GMM select CAT to transmit EURO 2012

GMM Grammy was granted a right to solely broadcast EURO 2012 program in Thailand. GMM then placed its trust in CAT in transmitting program from Poland and Ukraine during June 8, 2012 to July 1, 2012.
Mr. Sompol Chanprasert, senior executive vice president broadband business said that EURO 2012 was a big match of the year and that CAT was delighted to serve as a satellite signal transmitting provider to all Thai audience. “CAT is the one who will transmit satellite signal of EURO 2012 matches in the format of HDTV starting from the first match to the last match totaling in 33 matches. We will transmit signal from Poland and Ukraine via our Nonthaburi and Sriracha earth stations and then send it via our optical fibres to GMM Grammy building. Our optical fibres comprise of both main and back up links; therefore, this program will have high quality audio and visual.”
CAT is a leading satellite transmission provider. Big events including regional and worldwide sports events are transmitted and broadcasted to Thai audience via CAT’s 3 earth stations: Sriracha, Sirindhorn (in Ubonratchathani) and Nonthaburi which are certified ISO9001. CAT’s service is also developed to be able to transmit HDTV signal so that Thai viewers will be better entertained. Recently, CAT Channel has launched to the market as a satellite TV channel to offer “entertainment and technology related programs” which can be received via C-band receiver at channel 99 or via http://www.cattelecom.com.tv.
